How to find a carrier for your load, fast
Six practical tips for shippers: how to post a load so the right carriers see it, how to check them and agree on the job without losing time.
The goods are waiting and there is no truck. Every shipper knows that feeling. Here is how to get your load to carriers who drive exactly that route, faster.
1. Write a clear load
A carrier decides in seconds. Give the loading and unloading place, date, vehicle type, weight and cargo. The clearer the load, the fewer questions and the faster serious replies come in.
2. Post it where carriers look
On the freight board carriers keep saved watches: a place with a radius or a return route. When you post a load, those who drive that route get an alert on their phone. You do not have to wait for someone to notice a message in a group.
3. Look at free trucks too
The Trucks tab shows carriers looking for cargo right now, with the place and date they are free. If someone has an empty truck nearby, message them directly.
4. Check the carrier before you agree
Open the company profile in the reputation register. Read reviews from other companies for the carrier role and check whether the company has a confirmed ID number. If there are no reviews, ask colleagues with an inquiry.
5. Put the deal in writing
Once you agree, make a transport order as a PDF in the conversation and send it to the carrier. Terms, price and payment deadline are then on record, and the order stays with the conversation.
6. Build your network
Add carriers you are happy with as partners. When you post a new load, you can show it to your partners first and to everyone after.
